Hey there,

My name is Claudia Ylagan. I’m a local artist born and raised in San Diego, California. I consider myself a "mixed media" artist because I enjoy working with various types of art mediums like colored pencils, acrylic paint, chalk pastels, ink prints as well as digital media.

My art muse primarily revolves around animals and nature. The outdoors is one of THE most inspiring environments to be in. I spend my time hiking for those beautiful peak views and wildlife observation. I feel drawn to the creative interpretation of both land animals and marine life. As a kid, I grew up spending summer days with my cousins at the SD Zoo & Sea World, watching programs and documentaries like Animal Planet, and reading any National Geographic magazine I could get my hands on.

I genuinely love creating pieces for others! I find the collaboration aspect the most fun because 1) it’s an opportunity to bring a creative idea to life 2) I get to experiment with different subjects within an art piece and 3) it’s a chance to meet someone new. For every art piece I work on, I aspire to make it personal and irreplaceable.

When I'm not drawing, I’m either working in the office, surfing, fishing, hiking or simply enjoying time with the people I love.
