Hey there,

My name is Claudia Ylagan. I am a local artist born and raised in San Diego, California. I consider myself a "mixed media" artist because I enjoy working with various types of art mediums like colored pencils, paint, chalk pastels, ink prints as well as digital media.

My art muse primarily revolves around animals and nature. Being outdoors is one of the most inspiring settings to be in. I feel drawn to the creative interpretation of both land animals and marine life behavior. I grew up watching all sorts of animal based documentaries as a kid and, still to this day enjoy, geeking out over random animal facts.

I genuinely love creating pieces for others! I find the collaboration aspect the most enjoyable because 1) I get the opportunity to bring an idea to life and 2) I get to know more about the individual and or subject of the piece. For every art piece I work on, I aspire to make it personal and irreplaceable.

When I'm not drawing, I’m either working in the office, surfing , hiking or enjoying classic local spots in SD .
